The mission of the Congregational Church of Fullerton, United Church of Christ, is to respond to a still-speaking God by being Christ’s unconditional, transforming love in the world, working for justice and peace, ministering to the earth, and embracing all as children of God.

What does our mission statement mean? We use our mission statement to guide our ministry and spiritual life:

• Respond to a still-speaking God, quite simply that God still has more to say. Our ministry as Christians is to participate in God’s ongoing conversation, to heed God’s call to us, to follow the example set by God’s son Jesus Christ, and to welcome and nourish mind, body, and soul. • being Christ’s unconditional, transforming love in the world, we walk in Christ’s path. We use Christ’s unconditional, transforming love to guide how we respond to the world and to ourselves. We don’t just preach about it and forget it the other 6 days of the week–as a church and as individuals we work to BE Christ’s unconditional, transforming love in all that we do.
• working for justice and peace, there is no peace without justice and no justice without peace. We are all equal in God’s eyes, and it takes the hard work of God’s own people to realize that equality here and now. We fight alongside the oppressed and marginalized, minister to the underprivileged and hurt, advocate for the disadvantaged, and work toward global peace. • ministering to the earth, the earth is one of God’s greatest gifts to humanity and it needs our careful and active stewardship for protection. We cannot take this gift for granted–we must stop its destruction and do whatever we can for the environment to flourish and thrive.
• embracing all as children of God, we are an Open and Affirming church embracing our LGBTQA+ brethren. Families of all kinds are loved and accepted. Additionally, we welcome anyone wishing to hear of our Still Speaking God, to participate in our activities and ministries, to learn about God’s love for all of God’s children, and to explore a personal spiritual path.
